Cat Transporter Volunteers Needed
Volunteers are desperately needed to assist with transporting cats to adoption sites, foster homes and veterinary appointments. This is a great opportunity to help out cats waiting to find their forever home. Transporting needs are primarily in Minneapolis and the west metro area. Carriers will be provided for transport and mileage reimbursed.
Volunteers must love animals (especially cats) and have experience handling cats. Volunteers also must
have a vehicle to use for transport and provide proof of insurance. A Motor Vehicle Records check will be conducted for all potential transport volunteers. Volunteer transport driving eligibility requirements:
- No more than two minor violations in the last three years (examples of minor violations include, but are not limited to, speeding under 20 mph over the speed limit, passing violations, failure to yield at
an intersection or stop sign, failure to yield to an emergency vehicle, improper passing, altered license or unlawful use of license permit, driving on the wrong side of the road or in the wrong direction, and violation of license restriction (i.e. corrective lenses).
- No major violations in the last three years (examples of major violations include, but are not limited to, driving under the influence, refusal to submit to test for alcohol or failed test; driving while impaired; driving 20+ mph over the speed limit; reckless, careless, or negligent driving; misrepresentation of identify or other material facts; removal, falsification, or unauthorized use of
VIN or registration plate; driving while license is cancelled, revoked, suspended, or withdrawn; hit
and run; failure to stop and render aid after an accident; driving without insurance; vehicle theft;
and resisting arrest.
- No violations for manslaughter or vehicular homicide.
- Driver must be 21 years of age or older.
