William is an eleven year old male tri-color Rat Terrier. His owner did not want him anymore so the Minnesota Humane Society took him in. When he came to us he had Lyme disease and severe dental disease which required sixteen teeth to be extracted. If that wasn't enough, he started experiencing shallow breathing and was diagnosed with a grade three heart blockage. William was in danger of literally dropping dead at any time, probably within a few short months. William needed a pacemaker and one was placed. William was the lucky recipient of an Angel Fund grant from the University of Minnesota so all the charges associated with his pacemaker were covered by the fund.
William is very affectionate, loves to be petted and sleep in bed under the covers. When William first came to us, he really did not know how to play. However, he has learned to play and loves his squeaky toy otter.
William had not quite mastered potty training when we took him in, but he is doing much better. He also gets quite attached to his caregivers and doesn't do well with strangers. We are working on getting him better socialized. He would do best as the only animal in an adult only home. William is in a foster home. Please contact MHS at email@example.com if you would like to visit William.
William is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm negative, receiving heartworm preventative, microchipped and had a recent dental.
